Volleyball did not win but they took second in championship against Christ The King. However they took first in league. Basketball season starts in one week! All you basketball players get ready to win! Lipdub was a success! Thanks to all the staff members! Especially Mrs. Hobbs, Mr. Hobbs, Miss. Jones, and Mrs, Enneking. All the students did a wonderful job, especially the soloist! It took a lot of practice but we came through! Thank you again to the staff members for all your patience with all the students and the weather! The last day of shooting the video was a bit chilly, but you all helped us pull through! Father John and Joseph looked amazing in their bright red car! Can't wait to see the video at Catholic Schools Week hopefully it will be great! Love, Emily and Makayla Money Jump 09/26/2011
Today we had an assembly to reward all the hard work you put into selling trashbags! Veronica was picked to jump for cash and earned $13. Great job to all our top sellers! Look what we found last week on the playground! Book Orders Online 09/12/2011
Today I am sending home a note regarding our Scholastic Book Clubs. Parents now have the opportunity to place their orders online! Best of all, we earn a FREE book for the classroom library every time a parent orders online. It's very simple - go to the Scholastic website and set up a username and password by using our class activation code -HBNT3. I'll still be taking orders in class if that is more convenient for you. By the way, Son of Neptune by Rick Riordan is now available for pre-order! What a Week! 09/09/2011
Today marks the end to a very busy week in 7th grade. This week we celebrated the birthday of the Blessed Virgin Mary, created borders for a new continent, led mass on Tuesday, unloaded a truck full of trash bags and had an election. Luckily, we were able to have a little R & R Friday afternoon with a Snickers and an extra recess. Rebecca, Katrin, Veronica, and Drew ran marvelous campaigns for Stuco class Representative - here are some pictures from their speeches. Have a great weekend! STUCO Elections! 08/29/2011
It's time to vote for our new Student Council! Elections will be held on September 9th. If you are in the middle school and would like to run - you can start by filling out the application online. Applications must be completed by August 31st. If you do not have internet access at home, stop by Ms. Jones' room before or after school, or during recess or study hall. You may start campaigning on September 1st (see rules sheet). We are looking forward to another great council and are looking for creative, driven, hard working individuals who want to help make Mater Dei a "more perfect" school What are you reading this summer? 07/13/2011
Mrs. Gardner just loaned me a book called Moon Over Manifest by Clare Vanderpool. I'm about half way through the book and can see why she recommended it to me. It is a historical fiction novel that takes place in a small town in Kansas. The author tells two stories - one which takes place during the Great Depression and the other story takes place during WWI. The author is from Wichita and grew up with a love of reading. She read everywhere, including during class with a "library book hidden behind her textbook". Hmmm, sounds like some middle school students I know! Lot's of time left before school starts so turn off the TV and Read Instead! Be Holy, Be Excellent, Love One Another! 06/19/2011
I hope everyone is enjoying their summer! I am already looking forward to next year and am pleased to have finally graduated to the 7th grade. I am working on cleaning up the website and will be adding pictures from this past school year. If you have any suggestions on how to make this a helpful site for parents and students please add comments or email me. Thanks again for a fabulous school year! |
